In the mid 1940's Ric Berger began his campaign to lead Occidentalists to the Interlingua movement. His first articles, of which one is below, were subtle propaganda steps to lead them. Later A. Matejka and other leaders of the Occidental movement began to see what Berger was doing and they challenged him. He got angry and left in a hurry leaving them without an editor for Cosmoglotta. It caused a real problem because of the very short notice, i.e. virtually none. The article below, carefully read, will begin to show how this process began and how it "conned" many Occidentalists into the Interlingua movement.
